Text 20 Aug 4 notes Why do people from Ontario keep referring to their province as being on the east coast?

This is one of my biggest gripes. Someone on the CBC was just talking about Vancouver and said “unlike here on the east coast” where “here” meant “Toronto”. Look at any map and you’ll see that Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are all located farther east. 

Also “CROSS CANADA” tours that end in Montreal.
